Akashic Technologies / Technology
Akashic’s Hydrocarbon Recovery Unit (HRU) uses regenerative cryogenic processing to recover suitable gas and produce liquefied natural gas (LNG) and mixed natural gas liquids (NGLs).

The process
The HRU approach brings processing closer to suitable pipeline, associated, flare or stranded gas supplies. Gas composition and source conditions determine the treatment required before liquefaction and the products that can be recovered.
LNG and mixed or Y-grade NGLs have different product specifications and handling requirements. Additional separation, contaminant management and product recovery are assessed as part of the project scope.
Modular configurations can be evaluated for different processing requirements. Throughput and liquid output depend on feed composition, recovery, operating availability and the selected design.
Storage & distribution
LNG is natural gas cooled to approximately −162°C (−260°F). As a liquid, it occupies about one six-hundredth of its gas volume, making storage and transport practical.
A virtual pipeline uses compatible cryogenic transport equipment to connect production with destination storage and vaporization. The receiving site can use delivered LNG without its own gas pipeline connection.
Loading, access, replenishment, fuel handling and end-use equipment are planned together. The HRU processes gas; electricity generation is a separately configured integration.
